Abby & Jack’s Columbia Gorge Wedding at the Gorge Museum
"Lean into the teamwork—it’s a great learning opportunity, and it brought us closer together." – Abby & Jack
For Abby and Jack, their wedding wasn’t just about saying “I do.” It was about giving 150 of their closest family and friends a full Pacific Northwest experience. With guests traveling from across the country, the couple wanted to choose a location that would take their breath away—and Stevenson, Washington, in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, delivered exactly that.

Jack is an active, curious soul who values family and friendships deeply. Whether he’s playing basketball for his men’s league team, the Taste Ticklers (named after a Portland sandwich shop), riding his bike, making homemade pasta, or spinning a favorite record, Jack embraces life with energy and humor.
Abby is generous, creative, and full of joy. She’s a multi-talented hobbyist—painting, baking, gardening, crocheting, soldering stained glass, playing piano—and she loves the outdoors and the comforting smell of a home-cooked meal.
Their first connection happened on Hinge. Jack used his one weekly “rose” to send to Abby—and she responded immediately. A brewery date across from Abby’s apartment turned into a night that felt like a breath of fresh air.

Wedding Inspiration: The Columbia Gorge & Brutalist Architecture
The couple wanted a destination wedding feel without leaving the Pacific Northwest. With many guests visiting Oregon and Washington for the first time, they chose a setting that combined stunning natural beauty with rich history—the Gorge Museum in Stevenson, WA.
“The museum has this incredible slightly brutalist feel, which is Jack’s favorite architectural style,” says Abby. “The setting honors the beauty of the Gorge, and walking through the exhibits, you really feel the history and resilience of those who came before us.”
A week after setting the wedding date, Abby went shopping with her bridesmaids and found “the one” on her first visit—the seventh gown she tried on. The moment she pictured walking down the aisle in it, she teared up. Jack’s look perfectly complemented hers, with an understated style that felt authentic to him.
Abby and Jack’s wedding came together in just eight months. The initial planning felt overwhelming, but finding the right vendors—and embracing creative problem-solving with the venue layout—made the process enjoyable.
